Dining Room Goals

If there was ever a dining room that we did not want to walk away from after we finished, this was it. The kind of dining room you can picture yourself hosting the perfect girls night, drinking wine and having endless conversation. To say we were obsessed is an understatement- we still think about this space & how much we love it.

This was our clients dining room when we initially went over for our in person consultation. They had just moved into this beautiful home and were ready to make it theirs. This room was not the only room we were were designing & decorating in this home- but we knew we wanted to set aside a little more of the budget for two main reasons: 1) this is the first room you see when you walk in, so we knew it had to be full of warmth and charm, but it also 2) had to be functional as our clients are big into hosting family & friends. Our clients really left the designing up to us (our favorite kinda clients!)- we love when a blank slate like this is put right in front of us and we get to run wild with the design. Our clients loved the barn door that was put in the home by previous owners, so we knew we wanted to play off the warm yet masculine vibe of the door and the beautiful floors.

We knew we were going to have a custom table built for this space, so finding the perfect dining chairs, bench and sideboard were a must. So there was ZERO questions where we were headed; Elm & Iron at Easton Town Center. If you have not been in this store, you are not well. Listen, this space has the most unique pieces, prices that are affordable but very high end and their customer service is unmatched, they are so kind to us- and we love them for that. We also purchased so many beautiful accent pieces and candles (MMMM!! you MUST go there for their candles!) from Elm & Iron. Then we grabbed Starbucks, because no shopping day is a Birch & Co shopping trip without our coffee. We headed to another favorite, Kirklands where we scored BIG on the most stunning black mirror that we have ever laid our eyes on. We bought the last one they had in store and got a heck of a deal- they are also unbelievable in store, always so helpful and when we walk in they say, “There’s our girls!” The third store we checked out was Crate & Barrel- where we hung out with one of our favorite design experts, Chris! He’s funny and somehow always talks us into more than what we set out for! We splurged on a stunning table lamp because this room did not have any overhead lighting - so a stunning table lamp & floor lamp was a must. The rest of the items you see in the space are from Target, Home Goods and Amazon.com.

Install day/reveal day was exactly what we had imagined- full of smiles, laughs & some tears. This is HANDS DOWN the best part of our job and the most rewarding response. So much planning & hard work goes into these projects and to have clients be completely overwhelmed by their space is just the best.

This room will go down in Birch & Co history as one of our favorites- and lets face it, our clients too! <3
